The New River Humane Society, NRHS, is a passionate group that is dedicated to serving the needs of community members and animals in Fayette County, WV and beyond. We are committed to assisting in the control of the dog/cat population through spay and neutering, ensuring all animals are treated with dignity, respect and free from abuse, and providing them with a warm, caring home with residents locally and out-of-state.
The NRHS is a 501c3 organization that operates and manages a no-kill shelter located in Oak Hill, WV.
The Fayette County Animal Control officer is employed through the Fayette County Sheriff’s Dept. The animals picked up by the animal control officer are taken to the shelter located at 513 Shelter Road, Fayetteville, WV 25840 managed by the Fayette County Humane Society. We are not affiliated with animal control or Fayette County Humane Society. Financial donations are accepted through the New River Humane Society, a 501(c)3 non-profit organization, and used for spay/neuter procedures, food, vaccines and other necessities. Monetary donations are tax-deductible and you may designate for what your donation is to be used.
